It all began with a bond.

LtP’s founder Cat Blyth created the foundation in 2018 after being inspired by 14-year-old Jack Schumacher, who died of cancer in May of that year, and the many kids he met at Camp Millennium.

Cat & Jack met through the Chemo Pal Program at OHSU’s Doernbechers Children’s Hospital while Jack was battling osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. They bonded over their love of sports and some heated UNO Card battles. After Jack’s died in May of 2018, Cat had trouble coming to terms with his death. That was until he was pushed by a friend to attend Camp Millennium, a summer camp for kids battling cancer. After being at Camp Millennium for a week, surrounded by kids going through the same battle Jack had, Cat was finally able to find peace and come to terms with his passing. 2 months after returning from Camp Millennium, inspired by Jack & all the new cancer warriors that helped him through his darkest times, the LtP Foundation was established with the sole purpose of supporting kids & their families battling pediatric cancer.
